Smart phone is a “basic” device for us, we carry this “small PC” everywhere.

From the Edward Snowden case, mobile phone can be a spy tool and help to transmit data to others.

Why use a built-in antenna hand held detector instead of a directional antenna ?
  1. Unless the user knows where the target is, a directional antenna will not provide capability to catch the very transmission.
  2. The device is designed to catch signal bursts from all directions because the user would not be able to predict where the transmission will come from in advance.
  3. Unless a rotary directional antenna (like radar antenna) is used, directional antenna is disadvantageous. A detector using rotary directional antenna is in different category of business.
  4. Unless the user is in an open space, directional antenna can not accurately pin point the target due to multiple reflections from the surrounding building structure.
  5. Reducing the sensitivity and gradually zero in to the target is the best practice for small area (less than 50 meters radius) application.
